No one ever thought that the death of one man could cause so much trouble. When council member Sirus Vertomi was found dead in his home of what was then thought as a heart attack, no one payed much attention at first. At least... Not until they found the holotap hidden in his desk. The contents were a simple message "You had this coming" The authorities scrambled to find some way to find whoever made the tape. All with no luck. The next week, another member of the council dead, this time from blaster fired point blank, execution style. Once again.. No evidence. Ten deaths latter the authorities got desperate... They turned to both the Jedi as well as the those that dwell in the underground. Tasked with finding the identity of the unknown murderer. The only clue being a name that was found on one of the holotapes. "Orick Lelts" A man who was executed by Jedi 3 years ago for a crime that he had been proven innocent of. The question on everyone's mind is quite simply... what's the connection?

"This is Coruscant Spaceport Traffic Control to Iron Pride. You are clear for landing." The voice cut in through the communications console in the cockpit of Iron Pride. Jace growled then then slammed his hand onto the console. "About Drokking time, I've been in Drokking orbit for over two Drokking hours now!" He more or less yelled through the com. Jace, renown mercenary and bounty hunter in some underground groups, was normally more calm minded, but his patience was wearing thin. Also, he was bored, a dangerous state of mind for someone of his personality. He'd tend to pick fights with who ever was closest and since there was no one else on the ship, at least no one worth fighting, that would mean firing at another of the ships waiting for landing clearance. Space firefighter tended to be heavily discouraged by planet authorities, usually in the form of a warship. Iron Pride wasn't the most heavily armed ship.

Blerg, Jace's pet Kowakian monkey-lizard gave a chorus of angry cackles at Jace awakening it from it's slumber then scampered off out of the cockpit and down the corridor in the direction Lounge, presumably after food from the Galley. "Your getting fat!" Jace called after it then sighed and shook his head. Turning his attention to the process of planetary entry, he began to steer the Iron Pride towards the planet. At first the ship shook violently and there was a crash from the direction of the ship's Galley and a yelp. Jace grinned to himself then corrected the entry angle.

As the Ship closed in on the spaceport Jace glared through the cockpit's view-ports at the Traffic Control tower and resisted the urge to target it with the Auto-lock feature he had personally programmed into the ship's laser cannons. The program meant that Jace could still fly the ship whilst shooting at hostiles or bounties, since the laser cannons were suppose to be controlled by gunners but Jace was the only crew member and Blerg tended to chew on the controls.

Jace initiated the ship's landing gear as it pulled into the spaceport platform and gentle touched down. He stood up from his chair and stretched his aching muscles; stiff from being stuck up in the cockpit for too long. Shutting down the ship's engines, he left the cockpit and headed towards the landing ramp. As he passed the Galley Blerg jumped onto Jace's shoulders, dug it's claws in, indicated that trying to remove it would be painful and fell asleep. Jace rolled his eyes and stopped at his weapons locker. He removed his Vibrosword and it's scabard belt and tied it around his waist. Then he grabbed his Proton carbine and slung it's strap over his shoulder, the other one to the one Blerg was perched on. Finally he holstered his Model 434 blaster pistol on his hip then closed the weapons locker and walked to the Landing ramp. After it had opened, he headed down the ramp and out into the fresh air. He yawned then began to walk towards the Spaceports exit.

With the flick of a switch Rhys dropped his fighter out of hyperspace and into planetary orbit above Coruscant. Then after a moment he angled it for re-entry into Coruscant's atmosphere. Another flick of a switch and he began to broadcast on a frequency used only by Jedi, and with that simple action completed he was now allowed to bypass normal traffic protical and descend unmolested to a landing pad some distance from the Iron Pride. Running through the system shutdown checklist Rhys made sure to set all systems for a quick warm-up speed then armed the fighters anti-theft measures, grabbed his lightsaber, popped his cockpit canopy and jumped to the ground. " Damn.... that was a long ass flight, way too long. " Glancing around Rhys looked for the spaceports exit and started to walk in it's direction. After walking nearly 500 feet Rhys turned to look at the various ships scattered around the spaceport's various landing pads and only just managed to turn in time to walk right into Jace.

Jace staggered backwards as the man walked into him then tensed, taking an aggressive stance. "Watch where the drok your going!" Jace snarled in a menacing tone, his hand instinctively going to his blaster and his prosthetic to curl up in a fist. Blerg hissed at the man from where it was curled around Jace's shoulders. Looking the man up and down, Jace realised the man was a Jedi, the light saber kind of giving it away. However this knowledge only caused him to changed his hand from his blaster to the hilt of his vibrosword and his expression change to a scowl of disdain. He straitened his jacket, taking an overly long time to do it, with an attitude usually used by bar brawlers for when they are about to throw a punch. However his common sense told him that knocking a jedi's teeth down his throat wouldn't be a good idea, especially since he had just been hired by the planet's Jedi Council.

Instead he settled for simply shouldering past the jedi. As he walked of towards the exit he sneered "Bloody Jedi. walking around as if they own the place. Not worth my time." making sure that his voice was loud enough to hear. Forcing his muscles to relax, he sighed inwardly at the irony of the statement. After all he was here because the Jedi Council had hired him to track down the serial killer. Whilst Jace viewed this as something to applaud, the council had offered him an amount of credits he'd be insane to refuse. Maybe he would congratulate the killer as he brought him in.

With a grin Rhys turned and walked quickly to a side exit then made his way down several platforms until he reached a small air tram that would take him to the districts lower levels intent on getting as far away from the spaceport as possible as soon as possible. With a sparing look around the tram he took a seat in the sparsely lighted back then slipped the credentials he'd lifted off of Jace out of his pocket and looked them over. " Hmm, Jace Ironhand... a bounty hunter eh? " Rhys's right eyebrow raised in appreciation. " So... the infamous Ironhand is in town. That'll make things interesting to be sure. " Turning to look out the transparensteel window Rhys slipped the credentials back where they had come from as the tram left it's station. " Now that that bit of unpleasant business is complete let's take a little trip to the last victim's known whereabouts shall we. "

The sound of the air tram in movement was rather comforting to Raiden. He had a certain weakness for air travel. A guilty pleasure of his. One that thankfully the elders at the council didn't have a problem with.... The hypocritical bastards. Raiden quickly took a deep breath to calm himself before his anger grew even more. A rather difficult feat despite his training. He had always sat in silence, allowing the Jedi masters to chastise him over minor infractions while they reveled in their own greed. It made him sick even to think about it. This ordeal with the assassinations only made things worse. Part of him actually agreed with whoever was behind the killings as most of the members on the council were corrupt men. So they deserved to be punished. Though not to these extremes... or at least.. that's what the Jedi in him kept saying. He shook those thoughts out of his head and focused on those around him to try and divert his attention. He watched the man who had just entered the Tram. He seemed to be rather focused on Something in his hands as he began to mutter to himself. Though what interested Raiden more than anything else was how strong the Force seemed to be around him. Not recognizing him as a fellow Jedi, Raiden's instincts told him to be wary of the stranger. Resting his hand on his light saber which was concealed in his robes he kept his focus on the man. Watching and waiting for anything suspicious.

Jace glanced around as he left the spaceport then yawned and hailed for a Air Taxi. He waited for a bit before one arrived, an EasyRide passenger airspeeder he jumped in, Blerg leaped from his shoulder and settled down at the other end of the seats. "Jedi temple, if you'll please." Jace said to the Driver before spreading out across the back seat, enjoying the comfort of the cushy seats compared to the old worn ones in the Iron Pride. "Note to self. Buy comfier seats for Iron Pride." he murmured softly to himself as the airspeeder took off. Jace linked his fingers behind his head and closed his eyes. He hadn't had a proper sleep for a while, Blerg had recently discovered it was funny to disturb Jace when ever he tried to get to sleep in his quarters on the Iron Pride. "Maybe i should get a different pet. Like a Massiff. Or one of those Greysors from Naboo." Jace said then grimaced as Blerg started to make snoring sounds. "Or at least something that isn't so fat." He snarled at the creature.

Jace was awakened by the airspeeder touching down in front of the Jedi temple. He had managed to spend at least ten minutes asleep. He stretched then lent over to the driver to pay him the fare. The driver nodded politely and Jace hopped out. Blerg, who had awakened too, jumped back onto Jace's shoulder. "Damn. I was hoping you'd stay asleep and not get off when the taxi left." Jace chuckled, the quick nap helping his temper subside. Blerg cackled at him reproachfully. "Anyway, lets go see the wizards. What fun" He muttered, using a derogatory term for the jedi. Despite his better disposition, he still disliked Jedi. A nearby Jedi, who was leaving the temple, shot him a glare. Jace grinned cockily at him before heading to the entrance of the temple. Once inside he paused and reached into his pocket that he kept his bounty hunter credentials. His eyes widened as the pocket turned to be empty. He quickly began to pat himself down, checking all his other pockets and was glad he kept his credits in an secure pocket inside his jacket. "Blast. I know i had them when i left the ship..." he murmured then glared at Blerg, who shook its head. "... If not you, and it definitely wasn't the taxi driver, i would of felt it even if i was in a light sleep... then who..."He murmured to himself then he grimaced. "That drokking Jedi at the spaceport. He bumped into me didn't he." He growled in a dangerously quiet voice. His hands curling into fists. "Since when the drok did Jedi pick pocket?" he snarled then scratched at his chin. "If hes a Jedi, he'll probably come here." he murmured thoughtfully. Jace had a photographic memory, a trait he had trained specially during his bounty hunting career and he brought up a mental image of the Jedi's face. With a smirk he headed outside of the temple and walked into the shadows of one of the temple's statues. There he began to wait. He reached into a pocket and withdrew a sleek pair of gloves with metal pads. Slipping off his current cloth gloves, he pulled the new ones on. They were Mandalorian Crushgaunts, given to him by a friend. He grinned then stepped further into the shadows, making him harder to see.

As the air tram came to a stop Rhys made his way to the exit and shot Raiden a look saying he'd seen him looking him over then exited the tram and started to make a winding path across the platform and into the city in order to avoid being followed. Making more than a few false stops at shops along the way in order to check to see if he was being tailed he then made a trip to another tram platform and took it to another spot further into what could best be described as a slum. " Now I wonder what a Jedi Master would be doing in an area like this? A sitting master on one of the councils no less. " Gazing around Rhys started looking for clues in the spot where the Jedi had been seen last, after looking for nearly ten minutes he started to get the sense he wasn't alone, turning into the direction he'd come from Rhys gazed out past rows of broken down buildings to the tram platform where a figure could be seen getting off. With a swift and deft movement Rhys unhooked his lightsaber then melted into the shadows and lowered his force presence so that he wouldn't be detected by another force user if his suspicions of who it was proved true.

PostSubject: Re: Shades of Grey   Fri Mar 18, 2011 5:47 pm

A woman with her hair in a high pony-tail let out a sigh at she glared out the window of the 'piece-o-junk' (as she would call them) tram that she had taken from the back streets. Her posture in the chair was quite awkward, with her back and one arm resting against one of the arm rests, elbow on the windowsill, chin resting on the balled fist that connected itself with the arm that was resting on the windowsill, her one leg resting out straight in front of her whilst the other was bent slightly, thick booted foot resting easily on the floor.
The woman had an odd air about her, what with her scant clothing, short shorts long thick boots that came up to just before the knee, thick buckles criss-crossing across the boots expanse.
This woman was known to most as a hired-hand or a mercenary (for lack of a better word) by the name of AAB. However, known to only the select few was the true face of this girl, a Sith.
Alesia shifted in her seat and shot a deadly glare at one peasant who was stupid enough to stare at her. The man almost seemed to wither before averting his gaze from her ice-blue eyes. "Filthy bastard." she mumbled to herself as she turned her attention back the window, focusing on the task at hand.

She, like so many others had been hired or called by the Jedi-council to investigate the murder. While not part of the actual investigation, she had been hired as an extra hand to ensure that things went smoothly and that there wasn't any trouble on the scene while the investigation took place.
On the other hand, however AAB was asked to accept the contract, even though she didn’t necessarily feel like taking part in an investigation at a place that was bound to be crawling with jedi's. Just the thought brought a new scowl to her face but she reasoned with herself that it was her masters wishes to use the contract as a cover to discover the numbers of the jedi, the layout of the complex their strength and way of working. More importantly her objective was to remain undetected and return in a state capable of passing on the intel that she had learned.
Alesia let out a slow breath and dulled down her force so that she could lessen the risk of her being detected by a jedi. "What was he thinking, quite honestly.." she mumbled to herself before letting out an inaudible chuckle. "This may end up quite interesting"
"Alright here we are, Jedi temple. that was the place right miss?"
"Yea.." she said without half a thought as she got up from her seat, stamping her left boot on the floor slightly harder than normal, the loose feeling and slight jangling sound told her that her hidden daggers were safely in place. Repeating the same routine with the other insured her that her lightsaber was in place as well.
She let out an inward sigh as she managed a smile as she handed over the credits to the tram driver, fighting back the urge to chuck it at his face and watch him scramble for the money.
She watched with a slight glare as the tram drove away before turning her attention to the building in front of her. "Here goes nothing then." she said before adopting a neutral look on her face, keeping her disdain for the jedi on the inside her best option.

The figure that had gotten off the tram started to stroll leisurely in the direction of Rhys. He was an elderly looking man, with Grey hair and beard. He spoke in a grave tone of voice." Funny.. Didn't think you'd be the kind to hide out in the shadows. No no." He said while shaking his head. "He's too brazen for that. Chances are you're just some two-bit thug looking for an easy mark." He looked over at Rhys and let out a sigh. "Or maybe i'm just getting paranoid in my old age. Although.. you're no stranger to the force that's for sure. Tell me kiddo.. You out here hunting down that assassin?"

Raiden stepped off the tram with a sigh. he would have preferred to have followed that other force welder for a time. however his orders from the Jedi council took priority. Though the temple was supposed to be his home, it had started to feel more and more uninviting by the day. With most of the council in a state of panic over the assassinations, the knights being sent out on wild goose chases Raiden had tried his best to stay out of the temple as much as possible. While walking inside he took note of the other force users that flocked to the temple. What was once a serene place of learning had become a chaotic place of paranoia. The council had begun bringing in anyone who was even relatively trained in the force to hunt down the assassin. Raiden wouldn't be surprised if they brought in a sith to aid in the hunt. The very thought made his stomach churn. Keeping his mind on the task ahead he headed for the council chambers to receive his next mission.

Shaking his head, Rhys stepped out from the shadows and slipped his lightsaber back onto his belt then looked the old man over. " Heh, I'm no thug old man.... and yes I am here looking for the assassin. Still... I'm more interested in knowing how it is you could've sensed me. Not many people could have done so when I lower my force presence to next to nothing. I get the feeling I'm standing in the presence of a true master of the force... " Glancing down the street Rhys took a few steps in the direction of the unknown man and held out his hand. " I'm...R... " After a slight hesitation Rhys started again. "....I'm Rhys, Who might you be? "

A figure stepped out of the shadows behind Jace and tapped him lightly on the shoulder. Jace spun around his fist raised then froze and stared. "Nate? what the drok?! don't sneak up on me." He started and lowered his clenched fist. Jace had known Nate for several years, both of them had saved each other's lives a couple time during a bounty hunt on a Sith. Nate was one of the few Jedi that Jace actually had respect for. The man, dressed head to toe in black armour grinned at him, replaced his armoured mask and laughed. "Sorry, force of habit." Jace sighed, resisting the urge to punch his friend in the arm, since he still had his Crush-gaunts on. "I hadn't heard you'd returned to Coruscant. Last i heard you were still on the top secret mission." Jace murmured. Nate nodded. "Only just got back, i was on my way to be debriefed by the council. what you doing here? Has the infamous bounty hunter and Jedi-Hater stooped so low as to accept jobs from the Council?" Nate chuckled, adding the last sentence sarcastically.
Jaced nodded slightly. "I got an offer from them. Large sum of creds. Have you heard that someones been killing off council members?" He answered and Nate gave him a look of surprise. "Really? I've been out of touch. So your going to hunt down a Jedi Killer? I'm surprising your not joining him." Nate said and laughed heartily. "Yeah, but some son of a Bantha stole my credentials." Jace growled in irritation. Nate simply started laugh. "Oi, stop laughing. It was a jedi who did it." Jace muttered and Nate frowned. "I hadn't tought the order had sunk so low to become petty thefts. Give me a second" he said then reached out and touched Jace's shoulder, his eyes closed under his mask. Using Psychometry he saw Rhys bump into Jace and swipe his credentials. "Hmm" Nate murmured then started to mentally reach out with the force, searching around for any signs of the Jedi who had stolen Jace's credentials. "I can't sense him. He must be hiding his presence in the force." He sighed. "Anyway, come inside. I'll vouch for you as a qualified bounty hunter. The council can wait."

Alesia streatched for a moment before she eventually remembered that she was supposed to meet someone that would stay with her for the duration of the assignment. She rolled her eyes at the thought "Great.... and here i nearly forgot about it. What was the guys name again....." she thought to herself as she stopped walking, folded her arms behind her head and looked to the sky for a moment "E... J... something. " she let out a sigh as she continued on her way to the temple "So nice for them to pair me up with a potential green-horn who probably dosn't know the hilt from a blade..." she continued to think to herself as she walked on. Her thoughts continuiously grim as she nered her target.

Eian ran through the corridors of the temple heading for the entrance before stumbling past two people on their way in, one dressed in all black armor. His hand touched the floor as he ducked to avoid them, "My apologies" he said quickly as he streightned himself before lowering his head in a guesture of respect before turning back towards the door and outside to the platform. He only stopped once he nearly ran into Alesia. He stopped for a momentand took in her apperence for a slight moment
"The hell you looking at red?" she snapped at him before he quickly averted his eyes.
"Sorry.... uhm..."
Alesia looked at him for a moment before growing impatient with his attitude. "What do you want, make it quick ive got a job to get to." she said, dulling down her tone a bit.
"You wouldn't happen to know someone called AAB would you?Sorry, Its just im supposed to be stationed with him.. or her.. As ive not been allowed to take part in the investigation."
Alesia fought back the urge to slam the palm of het hand to her forehead. "this idiot is who they pared me up with? just great...... " "The one youre looking for is me. And stop damn apologising its annoying." She said, putting no more annoyance in her voice than a mere mercenary would. "Since youre the one with the know how i'll let you lead the way. The moment we get there stand aside ya got it? I hate people getting in my way."
"What a pleasant person..." Eian couldnt help but mutter under his breath as he lead her into the temple before stopping a moment in the room that the other two were. "I guess heres a good a place as any to start." he said as he turned round to face Alesia. "The jobs rather simple, all we have to do is go from place to place every now and then and be on hand if anything starts up..."
Alesia raised an eyebrow, "You don't say... This isn't my first job like this you know. Let me lay some ground rules" she said before placing her hands on her hipps, "Don't get in my way and we'll get along just fine got it?" She said before walking off to the other side of the room before watching and taking note of the people in the room, her eyes staying on two in perticular that peaked her interest.
"This is going to be a long day...." Eian said quietly to himself as he took a place in an inconspicuous corner before folding his arms, noting to himself that he should take this AAB to the ones that hired her for the job so that they could sort out payment and other issues later. Now however he decided to watch her for a moment, he couldn't help but feel that there was something off about her.

The Stranger shook Rhys's hand. "Oh no one of any importance anymore. I'm just an old man looking to pass what little time he has left in this life." He looked Rhys over and smiled. "They'll let just anyone in Jedi affairs these days won't they? Oh well.. Doesn't matter much anyways... It'll be over soon. There aren't too many of us left you know." He said while fishing something out of his coat pocket. "Here." He said while handing a holotap to Rhys. "Do us all a favor and give that to the suits back at the temple. You know.. Those politicians there on the council. It'll tel em everything they need to know about this whole ordeal. It's incripted so won't have to worry bout someone looking through it who isn't meant to. And try not to get caught with that thing.. The information on it will get you killed if He finds you with it."

The meeting lasted maybe 3 minutes. The basically pulled Raiden out of the field to tell him to keep up the good job. He let out a sigh of disgust. He knew the real reason behind it. They were just pulling the chain. Trying to keep him in line. Not that he had stepped out in quite a while. But they enjoyed toying with the Jedi that still tried their best to be what they were meant to be. A force for good. He leaned up against a pillar near the entrance and slammed his fist against it in rage. The sound echoed through the halls and he immediately regretted it once the other Jedi took notice. Controlling his temper had always been difficult for Raiden. A flaw which he doubted would go away anytime soon.

Rhys glanced at the holotap and reluctantly took it then looked the old man over once more. " Why do I get the feeling you just sent me on a suicide mission? I'm not exactly what you'd call on the council's good side these days.... I'm here looking for the assassin in more of a.... unofficial capacity. " Despite this fact Rhys was halfway tempted to deliver the message anyway... it was a certain guarantee that there would be some action if he showed up there uninvited. But Rhys wasn't a fool, let alone someone who took risks without good reason... and this holotap wasn't cutting it as far as he was concerned, no matter if it was important to the successful conclusion of his current goals.

Jace glanced over his shoulder at the man who stumbled passed them with an eyebrow raised. "Hmm. Looks like they are busy." he murmured turning back to Nate who shrugged and gestured forward to the Temple Atrium's front desk. After a few minutes of arguing with the clerk, Nate managed to convince him that Jace was a legally certified bounty hunter. He had been given a Data-pad listing information about the killings that the Jedi had already found, mainly an evidence at the scenes and a list of locations that the murders took place. Nate glanced at it over Jace's shoulder for a second before shaking his head. "Anyway, i've got to go to my debriefing now. See you later." He said then started to stride off, then turned back. "Oh and you can take my airspeeder. You know the ignition code right?" he asked and Jace nodded. "Okay. Its in the temple's parking. Try not to bust it up now." Nate finished before heading off further into the temple. "Thanks. Later." Jace called after him then walked towards the temple exit.

Outside, once he reached the parking area, he spotted Nate's black and slightly battered M-31 airspeeder. He hopped into it then punched in the ignition key. As the airspeeder began to take off, he glanced at the Datapad for the location of the first murder then tucked it into his jacket. "Right, here we go" he muttered to himself then steered the Airspeeder in the direction of the recorded murder.

After what seemed to be an hour or so Alesia got rather bored of the scenery and promptly walked up to Eian before smacking him lightly on the side of his head to get his attention. The tactic worked quite well as the jedi spun round to face her with a surprised look on his face, "What did you do that for??"
Alesia folded her arms and raised an eyebrow at the jedi, still fighting back the urge to run him through. "I was hired as muscle for this operation correct? But so far all i've done is stand around like a bloomin statue staring at you robed freaks." she said in a calm yet biting tone, "Come to think of it are you even going to take me to the bloke responsible for this operation, i was offered half of the payment up front as well. Cough up Red, you won't want to deal with me when im pissed got it?"
Eian raised his hand to his mouth for a moment, feigning a cough whilst mumbling something about her current temperment before continuing. "You mercinary types are all the same.... money money money." he let out a sigh "Right, about your employer theres been a slight change of plan that ive been informed of within the past hour. For some or other reason he does not wish to deal with you personally. Instead im to act as the... what would be an appropriate term... link between you two."
Alesia folded her arms and glared at Eain. "Look Red... i don't really give a shit about all that if youre the head honcho or whatever-the-case hand over the creds." she said as she extended an open palm "Gimmie."
Eien let out an exaggerated sigh before looking to the side and handed over a pouch which Alesia happily fixed to her belt. "A pleasure."

funny how quickly mercs attitudes change... "And its Eian just by the by."
Alesia raised an eyebrow, "What? You don't like me calling you red eh?"
"Its not my name, so i would preferr if you called me by Eian rather than Red."
Alesia grinned "Tough"
"What??" Eian retorted slightly surprised.
"Red fits your discription. Its staying got it?"
Eian, not in the mood to persue the matter further let out a sigh. "youre rather stubborn you know that?"
"Yea yea whatever. Arn't there any other places to get to, this place is getting stale fast."
"There are... but were not going anywhere just yet. If we are needed we will be called by the respective persons."
"Mhm.... just yell 'help some moron just loped off my arm!' and we'll come running is that what youre saying?" she said whilst she folded her arms ald leant up against a pillar
"Not the exact discription i would give it.... but esentially that it i guess."
"Yeay.... what fun." she said sarcastically, almost tempted to start a fight so that she could resolve it.

Raiden overheard the Mercenary and Jedi's squabbling and quickly grew tired of it. "I swear the both of you sound like an old married couple." His distaste for the racket clear from his tone. Once he recognized Eian he smirked. "Ah well no wonder. Looks like they hooked you with a ball and chain finally." He looked over at the Mercenary with an appraising look on his face. He finally shrugged. "So why'd they latch a merc onto you? Don't trust you with signing papers anymore or something? You'd think they'd just have another Jedi watching over you instead of hiring on someone." He thought for a moment. "Or are they just so desperate to find this guy that they're even throwing you out into the field?"

The old man chuckled softly at Rhys. "Then pass it along to next poor soul that you see. Just as long as it gets to council i don't care who takes it to em. I would take it to them myself but.... Well i doubt i'd live long enough to. It's a funny thing... Sometimes you make decisions that you don't ever think twice about.. Then years past and it comes back to haunt you. Most people never really think about these things when you're in the moment. Seemed like a good idea at the time... An excuse you hear far too often." He looked back at Rhys and laughed again. "Oh but i'm babbling. As mad men often do i suppose. Well it was nice meeting you friend but i must be off now. I've got a meeting with an old friend you see." He said as he walked over a door there in the alleyway. "Oh... and last thing. He said as he opened the door. "When you hear the explosion.... Run your ass off." He smiled at Rhys and walked into the rundown building.

Rhys watched the old man disappear into the building and shook his head as he chuckled " Why do I get the feeling that that's not going to be the last time I see that guy? " Turning back to the crime scene Rhys examined it briefly but realistically had seen all he had needed to and started to make his way back to the tram platform intent on getting rid of the holotap as fast as necessity would allow but was stopped short as he heard a airspeeder fast approching which caused him to run for cover as he once again un-hooked his lightsaber from his belt and watched as the airspeeder landed just moments prior to when he managed to make the cover he was running for leaving a fairly good chance that he had been spotted by it's pilot. Rhys glanced around the corner and watched as a single occupant got out and he belatedly realized it was Jace Ironhand, the same man who's credentials he had lifted at the spaceport. " Shit, how the hell did he track me here? A bounty hunter he might be, but there's no way he could've gotten someone to sense where I was... and I don't remember him following me at any point. "

Jace grinned to himself as he spied a figure running and his well trained eyes recognised it as the Jedi from the Spaceport. "Hah. Luck seems to be on my side today." he murmured to himself; he probably wouldn't of been able to spot the figure if he hadn't of started running. As he landed the air speeder he paused in the cabin for a second. "I wonder if Nate left any spares in here..." he murmured to himself before reaching under the seat and after a brief rummage he pulled out a Sound dampening stealth unit and installed it on his belt. Checking over to make sure it was in working condition, he found that it was in near perfect condition. "Blerg stay in here" he said to the creature, who had curled up on the seat next to him. Prepared, he stepped out of the airspeeder and force himself not to glance at the area he had seen the Jedi hide in then began to walk in the opposite direction of where the Jedi had hidden, pretending he was unaware of the Jedi. After rounding a couple corners, he switched the button on the stealth field generator and began to double back.

Eian glared at Raiden for a short time before attempting to shrug it off. "A pleasure to see you too Raiden... whats so funny??" he added as he glanced over at Alesia who was fighting back the urge to laugh with little sucsess. "I take it im not the only one who thinks youre an idiot!" she said before chuckling even further, the thought of being hooked up to a jedi who is mistrusted by the very people he served was a funny thought in and of itself for her. Not that it wasn't common, she was merely laughing at her luck.
Eian shook his head "This is AAB a merc they hired to 'keep the peace' around here whilst the investigation goes on." he paused as he looked directly into Raidens eyes, "I guess the folks upstairs are a little short-handed at the moment" he said with a slightly cold tone to his voice.
"And what about you eh Raiden? Still licking their boots whilst theyre looking and being the 'peacekeeper' when it best suits the occasion?"
Eian diddnt know Raiden all that well and his statement could of been founded on false accusations but he tended to give such attitude to anyone he thought bowed to the every whim of the corrupted council. This being one other of the many reasons why they had kept him back, claiming that he was uncontrollabe and a loose cannon. Many had suspected that he was about to leave the jedi at any day but stayed contrary to popular beilief.
"Names Alesia Aromaia Black" Alesia broke the silence as she spoke with an oddly cheerful tone, "A pleasure meeting someone with more than air between his ears."
Eian glared at her for a short moment before folding his arms "Well if youll excuse me this airhead is going to just stand here quietly and talk to himself apparently."
"Yea good luck with that." Alesia added quietly before continuing. "So who are you if i might ask?" she said in the same cheerful voice, hoping to gain some useful information from the chat.

Raiden let out a sigh. "You shouldn't put so much stock in rumors or your feelings Eian. Or have you forgotten that lesson?" He looked over at Alesia and offered her a bow. "I am Raiden. Jedi knight like Eian here. Though considering his attitude i suspect that he does not believe we are on the same side. Even though, and i mean no office in this. It's the mercenaries such as yourself that we should be wary of. Your kind tend to be..... somewhat unreliable. You can never really trust those that are only in it for the money. Too many..... uncertainties." He said as he studied her.

The old man made his way up to the fifth floor of the abandoned building where a cloaked man was pacing back and forth in front of a large wall window while twirling around a vibrodagger. "So who was that?" He spoke in a harsh tone. The old man smiled softly. "Just a messenger. Nothing more nothing less." The cloaked man sneered. "You jedi are all alike you know. Always trying to pull off one last trick at the last moment.. It won't help you know. All it'll do is save me an explanation." The old man shrugged. "Well i suppose it's better than simply doing nothing. But what about you Veral.... What will you do when the end comes? I you somehow manage to kill us all then what? Will you're life have purpose then?" The man called Veral pulled the hood of the cloak off of his head and snickered. "Haven't quite gotten that far in the planning process. Figure i'll think of something once i hit that bridge. For now though... I'd rather focus on the task at hand." He said as he stepped towards the old man. whom asked "But what good will it do Veral? Will you be at peace when we all lay dead?" Veral laughed. "Peace? After what you people did to me you expect me to find peace?! I give the stories are true. The big shots are as dumb as they look." The old jedi smiled sympathetically at Veral. "All men find peace young one. Yours.. You will find in death." He said activating his lightsaber from which a green beam sprang forth. Veral smirked. "And here i was expecting some sort of speech on either my possible redemption or how an evil like mine shouldn't be allowed to exist. Thanks for breaking the mold there. Was getting bored of the droning on before the pleading for their lives thing."

As Rhys watched Jace walk away in the opposite direction from his current position he knew something was wrong, after all he held no illusions to the fact that he'd been spotted by Jace... so why had the mercenary ignored his being there? There had to be a reason... two of them if he wanted to be precise. Either Ironhand was a complete moron and hadn't realized what he'd seen... but the man's reputation said otherwise and proved that was not an likely outcome, or... and was the more likely reason... Jace was in some kind of process of trying to lure Rhys into some type of trap. Weighing these thoughts carefully Rhys looked about himself in order to discern possible avenues of escape... but saw none, however a plan began to form in his mind that he quickly grew to hope would possibly help him ambush the irate mercenary.

Using the force Rhys jumped up to a second level platform, it's ladder had been retracted and he proceeded to break his way inside into the building it connected to. Only to discover it was an warehouse of some kind, further it was abandoned but was filled with long isles of rusted and fast degrading crates. Smiling Rhys had the absent-minded thought that the place was perfect... it would no doubt level the playing field between the two mercenaries for the upcoming battle. The familiar snap-hiss sound of his lightsaber igniting reverberated in the huge interior as he brought it's yellow blade to life then slashed out at the control pad for the door he had just entered through intent on slowing down his opponent as much as possible before their fight. De-igniting his lightsaber Rhys then moved deeper into the warehouse, becoming one with it's shadows.

The cat & mouse game between the two mercenaries had begun... who would win? Only time would tell.

A grin spread across Jace's invisible face as he watched the Jedi disappear inside the building. "This will be fun" He muttered to himself. Like many bounty hunters, Jace enjoyed the thrill of a chase and this one looked promising. He lent against alley's wall and rubbed his chin, planning his next course of action and also turning off the stealth field generator while it was not needed. After about a minute he began to make his way back to the airspeeder he had traveled in. Upon reaching it he rummaged around in it's cabin until he found it's toolbox, briefly glancing at Blerg who was snoring peacefully. Opening it, he took a hydrospanner from the contents and he chuckled in delight as he noticed a couple devices then were defiantly not standard items for a toolbox, but the kind of thing a person like Nate would have. Grinning to himself, Jace pocketed them as well and left the airspeeder, heading back to the building his prey had disappeared into.

He glanced up at the second level platform, glaring at the retracted ladder then chuckled. "Thats not going to stop me Jedi." he murmured and drew his Proton Carbine. As part of it's modifications, Jace had added an under-barrel ascension attachment. After a split second for aiming, Jace fired the device, the hook catching onto the bottom of the ladder. Using the attachment Jace ascended up to the platform and hauled himself over the edge. Rising to his feet and walked to the door he had watched the Jedi enter. He had no intention to enter through it as it obviously would be a bad place to enter a building which his target had just entered - being easy to ambush. Instead he attached one of the devices he had taken from the airspeeder to the door. Jace grinned to himself and glanced at the roof of the building. He fired the ascension attachment again, the hook gripping on the roof and he began to haul himself up the wall.

After pulling himself up on the roof he glanced around, grinned when he spotted what he was hoping for and walked over to it. Taking the Hydrospanner from his belt he began to detached the grill from the air duct. Once removing it from the vent he poked his head inside, judging out the size. It looked wide enough for him to fit but Jace couldn't help a slight sigh. He didn't like small spaces, though he had began to get use to them from crawling around maintenance shafts inside the Iron Pride. Activating the stealth generator to muffle the sounds of him crawling inside the vents, he lowered himself down into the cramped darkness, looking for a way from the vent into the main part of the building.

Eian let out a sigh and turened his gaze away from the two his demenour softening alittle. "I have not... my apologies." he aded quietly.
Alesia forced herself to show no change in emotion at the Jedi's words. "A pleasure. and please," she chuckle and adapted a coy smile, tilting her head to the side ever so slightly, "We're not that bad, just trying to make a little living ya know?" She paced to the side cauciously before leaning casually against a pillar. "In times like these when one crisis after another just seems to rear their ugly heads we're only too happy to help... with the healp of a small fee you understand?" she said with a light chuckle. "Things better start livening up around here..." she thought to herself as she started to feel almost physically sick keeping up with the sharaide.
At this point Eian decided to put his two cents into the matter in an attempt to add a little humor into the conversation, "Its probably as you say then the higher ups are desperate."
